RMAFC okays politicians’ jumbo pay
During a public lecture and book presentation event in Abuja, the Chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Mohammed Shehu, rejected claims that Nigerian politicians earn excessive salaries.
While many economic experts have called for a review of the high cost of governance in the country, the commission chairman stated that the document to be presented to President Muhammadu Buhari will only address the salaries of judges and not politicians.
Recently, the Director-General of the Budget Office, Ben Akabueze, had expressed concerns about the increasing cost of governance during a policy dialogue on corruption and the cost of governance in Nigeria.
