Following a truce reached between the state government, the Nigeria Labour Congress, and Trade Union Congress, power supply has been restored in Imo State after a six-day blackout caused by an industrial action.
A joint statement by the parties involved indicated that a Tripartite committee has been formed to resolve the issue leading to the industrial disharmony. Civil servants who operated half-days are now back to full operation, flights have resumed at Sam Mbakwe Airport Owerri, and no civil servant would be punished due to the industrial action. Governor Hope Uzodimma is reportedly willing to agree on any deal that will ensure lasting industrial harmony.
