NUPRC plans fast licensing for indigenous oil firms

During a visit to the exhibition booth of Green Energy International at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas, the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC),

Mr Gbenga Komolafe, stated that the commission would support indigenous oil and gas companies with the right policies and regulations to grow.

He assured Green Energy International and other companies of quick turnaround times for licensing and other necessary approvals needed for business growth.

 Mr Komolafe said that NUPRC's policies and regulations would be enabling enough to incentivize businesses to grow and increase operational efficiency.

Chairman of Green Energy International, Prof Anthony Adegbulugbe, explained that the company, which operates the Otakikpo marginal field in Oil Mining Lease 11, was set up to explore opportunities in the oil and gas value chain for the benefit of its stakeholders and the Nigerian economy.

He noted that the company had recorded 5 million cumulative man-hours without lost-time injury since it began operations.
