JUST IN: LP faction, representatives clash at election petition tribunal

...

The Presidential Election Petition court refused to recognize any representative of the Labour Party except the 1st petitioner, Peter Obi, who was present in court.

Justice Haruna Tsammani made this decision after being informed of a disagreement between two factions of the party. When the court called the matter, Obi announced his appearance, followed by Dudu Manuga, the National Women's Leader of the Party.

However, before Manuga could be recorded on the list, Lamidi Apapa stood up and announced himself as the representative of the Labour Party. Justice Haruna intervened, stating that no representative from the party would be recognized. Earlier, factions of the Labour Party were seen at the court, arguing over which faction was the legitimate one. The Lamidi Apapa-led faction challenged the presence of party members loyal to Julius Abure.
