Farmers and residents along the newly constructed Ijebu-Ode, Epe-Mojoda express road by the Ogun State government have showered encomium on the Prince Dapo Abiodun led-administration for embarking on the construction of the road which has greatly improved the socio-economic activities and well-being of the people in the area.
A farmer, Mr. Quadri Adekunle, in Iloti area, who spoke with journalists,
went down memory lane to say that, it was difficult in times past to transport their farm produce to various buyers due to deplorable condition of the road, appreciating Governor Abiodun and his team for constructing the road which has now made life easier and more secured for the people.
‘’This road we are now enjoying was once abandoned by the immediate past administration for many years, today the road is good, pliable and safe for us to transport our goods to the neighbouring state. This singular development alone has made movement of both human and goods convenient to Lagos within 30 minutes’ drive”, he said.
In his contribution, a Cocoa farmer, Mr. Ajani Lukman in Irawo area said the economic activities of the area had improved tremendously due to the accessibility of the Epe-mojoda roads, saying ’’people are now trooping in to embark on one or two commercial activities. We have confidence that soonest, investors will come to build companies that will provide job opportunities for our youth’’.
In her submission, one of the residents of Odogbawojo, Mrs. Simbiat Adebajo, said immediately the road was constructed, the economic activities in the area grew, while property and Land owners had equally benefited from the road construction, as prices of landed properties had increased, while ne structures were being erected, thereby fast-tracking development in the area.
Other residents commended the great vision of the present administration, praying for more insight to enable the Governor embark on meaningful projects that would further boost socio economic development of the State.
