The Dangote Refinery, Africa's largest single-train refinery located in Nigeria, has begun operations. The facility, designed to process crude oil from Africa, Asia, and America, will produce a surplus of 38 million liters of petrol, diesel, kerosene, and aviation fuel daily, meeting Nigeria's entire fuel supply requirement.
It is expected to create 100,000 direct and indirect jobs, support 26,716 filling stations, and provide a $21 billion market for Nigerian crude oil annually.
The refinery, inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari, has a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day and is equipped with advanced technology to produce environmentally friendly petroleum products.
