The downstream sector of Nigeria's petroleum industry is currently facing uncertainty due to a document that indicates a retail price of petrol exceeding N500 per litre. Vanguard obtained the document, which states that the petrol prices in Abuja, Lagos, and Kano are N537, N488, and N540 per litre, respectively.
Despite repeated attempts to contact Mr. Farouk Ahmed, the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), the regulatory body responsible for overseeing sector activities, there has been no response to confirm the information.
