Airtel Africa appoints Carl Cruz as CEO/MD of Nigerian subsidiary
Airtel Africa Plc has announced the appointment of Carl Cruz as the new Managing Director and CEO of its subsidiary, Airtel Nigeria, effective May 5th.
Cruz, who succeeds C Surendran, will also serve as the Regional Operating Director and report to Segun Ogunsanya, CEO of Airtel Africa Group, and the board of Airtel Nigeria.
Ogunsanya expressed confidence in Cruz's expertise and business acumen, stating that he would strengthen the company's growth.
Cruz brings over 31 years of corporate experience from different regions of Africa and Asia, including his recent role as CEO and Managing Director of Unilever West Africa.
His track record includes leadership roles in sales, distribution, brand development, trade development, and commercial engagement.
